Enterprise Hub a "kick in the butt" for young man to get started with his business.

One man's interest in vintage football shirts has led to the opening of a vintage clothing shop in Caernarfon.

Dylan Jones is originally from the Gwendraeth Valley, but has now settled in Caernarfon and has taken the leap to open a shop called Cymro Vintage in the town, after a period experimenting with online sales and running a pop-up shop.

He's long been used to going to the big cities to buy vintage clothes, but since many of those stores sell low-quality clothes at a high price, he saw a gap in the market for a local store that would sell high-quality, reasonably priced second-hand clothes.

He admits that he has benefited greatly from programs that help young people set up a business.

"The programme really kicked me off to think I could do something with the business," says Dylan when talking about the Enterprise Hub Town Centre Miwtini programme.

"I really enjoyed sessions on bookkeeping and marketing. It's taken a lot of the stress and anxiety out of that side of the business."

As well as winning a prize of £1000 after submitting a pitch for his idea, he received a grant support package from Hwb Menter to develop further.

"I feel lucky that I was able to get the support package," he said. "The grant paid for most of the initial bills, which is another safety net for me."

Having gone through a really difficult time with his personal life, he is also grateful for the opportunity to join the Llwyddo'n Lleol Mentro Initiative.

"It was too good an opportunity not to take, and this opportunity gave me the spark to think I could do something with this."

"It's quite surreal that I have my own shop and business, it still hasn't sunk in yet! It's really a dream come true."
