Craftsman from Nefyn benefits from Hwb Menter support

A plumber from Nefyn has benefited from support and a grant from the Enterprise Hub, one of Menter Môn's programmes.

Carwyn ap Plumbing and Heating is the name of the business, and Carwyn ap Myrddin travels around Gwynedd and Anglesey providing heating and plumbing services to its customers.

"The business has grown very well," says Carwyn. "I'm getting more and more work on bathrooms in particular, and a lot of gas boiler installation work as well."

He feels that the Enterprise Hub helped him develop – not only because he won a grant, but because of the support he received in creating a business plan and planning how to spend the grant.

"After being helped to create a business plan that helped me decide what different aspects to invest in."

He got help with practical elements such as insurance and a gas analyzer, but also with promotional elements – creating a logo for the van and clothing for his company.

With the business going from strength to strength, its next goal is to move towards specializing in more sustainable ways of heating, such as technology that uses heat from the air.
